6. Take a ride in a hot air balloon

A really large hot air balloon taking off from the top of a mountain.
I'm not afraid of heights, never have been and probably never will be, so going up in a hot air balloon just makes sense to me. Obviously, as a mode of travel it doesn't make sense, I mean, how do you control where you go? I don't know much about them but I'm guessing you go wherever the wind takes you.

As long as that place is pretty then I guess that's ok with me.

But seriously, how peaceful must it be on one? Look at that photo, you don't get much more removed from everything than that, and I bet it's deadly quiet too.

People use hot air balloon rides for a whole host of things, but my ride would just be to relax and enjoy the views. It's not every day you get aeroplane views without moving at 500 miles per hour.
If it happens to look like a giant owl, that would be swell.
I wouldn't want to be at those events where hundreds of hot air balloons take off and swirl around, I just want it to be one, with me in it. And someone that knows what they are doing, otherwise it might end in disaster for the owl.

5. Road trip across America

Just a short trip really.
For many years, I've wanted to travel across America, but every time I sit down for an hour or so and plan a route that I like, I realise that it is different to the last one I thought up.

There is a common theme however, which involves at least some form of stint driving on the old route 66, now replaced by the Interstate system (annoyingly) with a lot of it actually being off limits nowadays. However, there are still the Historic Route 66 sections which you can drive on, and this is the route I would take.

Obviously the Interstate system would need to be used, but then there isn't much I could do about that.

Other than driving from East to West and then spending a day or two enjoying the sunshine on the West coast, my only other stipulation for this trip would be the car. Which, of course, has to be pure American Muscle:
Not necessarily in this colour.

4. Cambodia

I've always wanted to go to Cambodia to see the ancient ruins and experience the jungle and the heat.

Ancient Ruins, now with Monks!
I would love to see the ruins of all the old temples, it's something I have wanted to do for a long time instead of going on a holiday to relax and lounge around a pool all day. I want to go out and see the world and enjoy it while I can, the only problem at the moment is money (and a degree) all getting in the way, but that's life.

For those of you that don't know, Cambodia is located between Vietnam and Thailand, two very popular tourist destinations that will likely feature later on in my blog posts, but for now you'll just have to make do with the fact that its has not only history and heritage on show, all of which are beautiful, but some of the best looking beaches around to enjoy while you are there too.

Just because I said I didn't want to lounge by a pool, doesn't mean I don't want to lounge by a beautiful beach.

Unfortunately, that's not me :(
